Maria Konstantinidou is Assistant Professor of Early Byzantine Literature at the Department of Greek Philology, Democritus University of Thrace. She has studied History, Classics and Byzantine Studies in Greece (Democritus University of Thrace) and the United Kingdom (Lincoln College, University of Oxford). Her research interests include early Christian literature (especially patristics and hagiography), byzantine rhetoric, Greek palaeography, and Papyrology. Lately, her research focuses on classical and byzantine studies using digital methods, including historical document analysis and recognition and NLP (Natural Language Processing). She has recently co-authored a textbook on Digital Papyrology and Palaeography.
