Charilaos N. Michalopoulos is Associate Professor of Latin at Democritus University of Thrace. He studied Classics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (BA 2001) and the University of Leeds (MA 2002; Ph.D. 2006). His publications include books and articles on Ovid, Priapic poetry and Modern Greek reception of Latin literature. He is also actively engaged in translation of Latin poetry in Modern Greek. His research interests focus primarily on Ovid, roman epigram, ecocriticism and Latin poetry, gender studies, and pedagogy and mythology. He is also a member of the Curriculum Team for Latin in Greek Secondary Education and associate member of the European network on Gender Studies in Antiquity EuGeStA. He is also a published poet and a modern Greek poetry critic.
