Lydia Mitits is Assistant Professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education Sciences of the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, where she specializes in Applied Linguistics – Bilingualism in Education. She has edited volumes, presented at international conferences and published peer-reviewed research papers on multilingualism, heritage languages, language learning strategies, adaptation of measurement tools, etc., in books, international journals, and conference proceedings. She has given talks as a guest speaker at workshops and seminars for teachers and has organized training workshops in primary, secondary and higher education. Her main research interests are in the areas of bilingualism/multilingualism in education, language learning strategies, heritage languages, multilingual language development and language teaching methodology.
