Nikos Mavrelos is Professor of Modern Greek Literature (Dept. of Greek Literature, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece). He focuses on Modern Greek Literature (from late 17th-beginning of 20th cent.), under the light of literary genres theory, history of ideas and the notion of Early Modernity theories in a comparative perspective. He is the director of the Modern Greek and Comparative Philology Laboratory at his department. His last monograph is Roidis’ tangible images and Baudelaire’s paintings of modern life.
